I was thinking of buying a projector and use it for my pc instead of a monitor that way i can use projector for tv and monitor which saves room.

If you want to use the PJ for surfing/desktop use etc. then you'd better get a high res unit. HS10 or something along those lines.

TV/DVDs/games look fine on most PJs but "standard" PC use is poor at anything lower than 1024x768 or 1280x720 etc..

I do an odd bit of surfing & other stuff on my HS10 after watching a movie. Don't game on it too often though but UT2K3 looks pretty sweet at 110" diagonally

I've had some great fun trying out my F1 games on my PJ along with a force-feedback wheel :) Damn, went round the Jag F1 factory the other week, should have picked up an old monocoque to complete the experience ;)

Yep, driving sims on a PJ are just awesome. Pity more don't support 16:9 :(

Still, when stretched, current F1 cars look more like they did a few years ago - proper racing cars.

    :)

Think that I may get Flight Sim 2004 now that I've upgraded my PC... (P4 2.67) I used to love the old Flight Sim games (nay, sims) but I've yet to try them on a PJ. Oh, speaking of which, take a look at this: http://members.chello.nl/~s.ferris/

I think one of the pics somewhere on that site shows flight-sim using a PJ to supply the background image (the horizon) and monitors for the control panels - sweet :)

I am definately looking forward to this when my Panny ae500 turns up. One question. Those that have them whats your control setup when playing games on the projector.

OK with the xbox I am sorted (Gamepad) But say I want to play Dod or x other first person shooter. I can take my desktop down to the lounge and plug it in but..... No desk.

Any of you clever chaps got any ideas. Have a lappy down there but not quite powerful enough to play the latest games.

I suppose most of you have them in a room that have a desk in a good position ?

I suppose I could get a gamepad for my pc

I imagine the best solution is an ergonomic peice of plywood and a RF mouse and keyboard :)

That is what I was thinking. Then inspiration. I found a place on ebay selling Bed tables. Just the right size and slide underneath the bottom of the couch. Hey presto desk infront of my projector screen that can be easily moved.

Ordered a decent RF infra red keyboard and mouse so should be sorted.

Just waiting for all the bits and pieces to show up now

Cant wait for 6 foot wide DOD & Call of Duty.

Logitech do a high end rf mouse which is 800dpi. It Is recomended for gamers wanting to take this route. Its around £45 - £50 though :(

For the time being I have got a Microsoft Black Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Intelli Mouse. My thinking is that until the projector goes to its final resting place (My loft conversion when it is finished) It dosnt need to be wireless (only a temporary setup and cables are long enough). I have used the keyboard and mouse before and they are pretty good. Only cost me £23, If I like it I will use on my desktop or just sell on Ebay and get the proper RF gear when I am ready.
