Can some help me with my gaming access on a 2nd PC.
I have my fisrt PC running windows XP pro connected to NTL cable using the usb connection on the modem. I then run to a second PC upstairs through a hub on a diffrent ip with the PC downstairs acting as a router.
I have internet access on both but the upstairs PC cannot play on line games. Any settings I should do etc or any websites I should look at ?
    Cheers :lease:

What games are you trying to play and are you using any matchmaking programs?

Sounds to me you have some NAT issues with the router software. What router software are you using? Or are you just using ICS?

Thanks for the replies guys. I am mainly trying to play Starcraft and various Halflife mods. My "router" is my PC with internet sharing applied from the standard stuff on Windows XP Pro. 2nd PC is also windows XP but Home edition.
Should I get something better ?

The problem is with ICS, it does have problems with games, you should be able to play games with 1 PC at a time, it cannot cope with both.

Your best bet would be to buy a hardware router, either wireless or cabled and use it that way.

Thanks Sinzer. I have looked at a router before but did'nt get one as ics is free, but it don't do what I require so a re-think is in order.
