Just a query, couldn't find a specific question like this :

All of my media is ripped and streamed from my NAS. I have a number of 3d titles. In the past, I would rip both 3d and 2d versions and play whichever one was required. Obviously this takes up a lot of space.

My current TV lets you switch to 2d/3d mode. So if I'm watching a 3d movie, you can hit 2d and it will show 2d content.

The question is, is that 2d accurate or is there any compromise? If I can just use the 3d stream and switch to 2d if needed that will save a fair bit of space.

Is this a difficult question or is it a stupid question?
