player problem

    i have a samsung 709 dvd player it is multi region but wont play vcd's. can any one help

    When you say it will not play VCDs are you talking about CD recordables, or REAL VCDs?

    Many players can not handle CDRs, my sony copes with CDRWs, there are people who claim Princo CDRs work, but not on my Sony!!

    I too have the samsung. Mine plays VCDs (kosher ones) OK. The only problem may be if you've made the VCDs on a CDR drive. The Samsung has trouble with most CDR discs, although some will play. This is due to the different frequency the DVD laser works on compared to the normal CD type laser.
