I will very shortly be getting a Sanyo Z3 PJ and because of my current set up I will be needing a 7-8m video cable to feed it.

My current DVD player is a rather old, but still decent Sony 525, but it will only throw out S-Video or RGB via Scart.

I am thinking serioulsly about demoting the Sony upstairs and upgrading to a machine that will service the PJ better, at least a Prog Scan model, but possibly a HDMI model as I understand that will give better results, especially over that distance.

Has anyone any advice on Players/cable combis that would work over that distance.

Component, HDMI and DVI will all work fine over that distance. Pioneer 575 is a good choice for component. Samsung 850/950 for HDMI seems flavour of the moment. That Oppo player looks interesting too...PJ :)
