Playback volume lower than live - why?

HDMI connection to TV only (Samsung LCD) - and the volume of playback is far lower than live meaning a significant increase in TV volume to watch stuff from the planner.

Anyone else get this? Any solutions? My SKY+ box did it with a Sony CRT as well, but its more noticable as the Samsung is far weedier in the sound dept.

This is exactly the same broadcast being compared?
Does it do it when you Live Pause as well as stream an existing recording from the hard drive?

Not sure as not tried it (something to try tonight - or maybe tomorrow as just got new 40" TV delivered at work and could be 'busy' tonight :D ).

But as a general rule it occurs when you are watching Sky normally and it sounds ok. Select something off the planner and you have to turn the TV up to get it the same volume.

Not that I have noticed and I do use Pause function - I hadn't thought of that as in essence you are doing the same thing i.e. watching something off the HDD.
