Playback using Canon DW-100 DVD burner

I just bought a Canon Legria HF R18 HD Camcorder and a compatible Canon DW-100 DVD burner. With these, I can transfer camcorded video clips onto a DVD-R or DVD-RW.

The DVD burner has a playback facility using which DVDs burnt in it can be played back on a TV screen. To do this, I need to interpose the Canon camcorder between the two devices. The DVD-burner is connected to the mains and connected by a USB cable to the camcorder, which in turn is connected to the TV via the camcorder's HDMI cable. So far so good.

My question is, if the DVD burner (and of course the TV) are connected to the mains power supply and the interposing camcorder is not, will I still be depleting the camcorder's battery power during DVD playback?

PS: The camcoder also has mains supply cable if necessary.
