Just thought I would point out they are not the 2 Disc Special Editions so if you are a fan of Trek you will want to avoid the standard releases.

Never bothered about the extra's on DVD's.

Just the movie and these ones have the remastered picture & DD 5.1 soundtracks on the earlier titles, which is fine for a casual trek fan such as me.

Still waiting for the R2 SE versions of Star Trek 5 - The Final Frontier &
Star Trek 6 - The Undiscovered Country to be reduced somewhere. I thought ST 5 would have turned up for under a tenner by now, but no signs anywhere :(

I know I could get the R1's cheap, but I've got the rest on R2 so I want all the cases to match :D

are the films in the box set the newer versions(with 5.1 sound) because some of the early releases had something wrong with them.
if they are the newer versions I will buy it as it is a bargain at that price.

    Dave.

In the boxset you get 1-4 in SE format with the rest being the standard (some might say crappy) releases.

Yep, Star Trek 1-4 are the Special Edition film discs and the rest are the standard releases.

I have to say that I didnt notice anything wrong with the standard film releases when I had them, they all had DD5.1 and apart from Star Trek 5 & 6 they all had an anamorphic widescreen transfer but the new releases do seem to have had a clean up and do look and sound better.

I am sure once all the films have been re-released as Special Editions there will be a new 20 Disc Boxset, cant wait for that lol
