Ordered GRAW from Play.com on Monday, just wondering if any of you know will it turn up tomorrow?
I have to say I'm not entirely sure, but there are a gaggle of experts that will probably know if you ask in this thread, dedicated to Play's postage
I've always received my order from Play within a couple of days after the despatched email.
Thank you steve, its nice for my professional manner to be recognised.
In direct response to this fiercely contested debate, whereby myself and Dr Bobmeister are widely regarded as leading experts, I can quite safely say that there is a 13.0% chance of this arriving tommorrow.
I am predicating a thursday delivery. Though this depends on the jiffy bag used and time of actual order. Thank you.
Orders for me have always taken a max of 3 days from the day I recieve the dispatch email so if they posted it yesterday afternoon then there is a good chance it will arrive tomorrow.
i predict thursday morning unless u used 1st class for play
nice one lads
I usually receive stuff three days after posting fom play, so Thursday sounds very likely.
Play are based in Jersey so their orders normally take two - three days....when i ordered GRAW before the release i got an email saying it was dispatched tuesday...it arrived friday.
My brother ordered same time from gameplay and got his GRAW the day before official release (thursday vs my friday)
still waiting for my burnout revenge pre-order which shipped last tuesday
not play's fault - definitely royal snail but realistically anything can happen with the order. my previous order took 5 days to arrive but there was a weekend in there too.
I find with my stuff from em they send it on day 1, it travels day 2 and Inormally get it day 3, but I do live in Southampton and it comes from Jersey
Play with me have been great with DVD films region 1 mainly to UK (5working days tops) and about 3-5working days for PAL dvds. Games Ive found them terrible and got sick of not getting them on release day everytime I tried (I tried em as they where cheaper then gameplay for a trial and ended up going back). Ive had a few items go missing though thru Play which havent happened with Gameplay or even major slow CDWOW (6weeks for a PC game it took once from them!).
still hasn't arrived - i'm getting ****** off about it now to be honest.
dvd sent by play.com on saturday (not recorded delivery) arrived today though.
need to wait until next tuesday to contact play if it doesn't arrive. like a previous poster i have had the odd thing go missing from play but never from anybody else.
again, i know it is royal snail who are at fault for this delay - not play.
Use tescos or asda both sell games for £40 and no waiting is involved.
my first ever order with play dispatched to switzerland on march 10th. arrived today. not very good in my opinion. amazon always takes about 2 to 5 days. 14 days is a joke.
back to amazon for me.
Play.com have always been great for me, 2-3 days max from clicking the order button.
Great packaging too.
That goes without saying, nice and padded
How can you say that when they discriminate against any colour other than sandy yellow? Fascism is rife in the packaging world.
Jersey is the vital point
You will notice Jersey is the small island at the bottom of the map (or nearby, my geography is terrible).
You will also notice the forecast prevailing North to North Westerly wind. As such, due to the nature of Play's carriage (studies show yacht across the channel before air freight to local airports then motorcycle courier to parcel-force depots [See Play Postage Thread for Detail of the Report]) - delivery speed is highly dependent in residential location.
Those along the west coast will receive goods much quicker (typically 1-2days lead time) than those in London, the midlands, or East Anglia and the North East (the latter two are especially susceptible with reports of 3 day lead times in York).
The 'North-North West Prevailing Wind Theory' can be demonstrated very easily by the fact that 78% of GRAW players on the day prior to scheduled release were in-fact Welsh (you can check by looking for the 'world champion' achievement on any welsh-players GRAW live profile).
I am currently in the process of drafting a letter to Microsoft to have the award on these players' profiles changed to "Welsh Champion" as I feel they had an unfair advantage.
I apologise if your brother is in fact Welsh, or you live in Norwich
I was most dismayed to find that my copy of Oblivion that I pre-ordered from Gameplay arrived today in a sandy yellow jiffy bag instead of the usual silver plastic one! Fortunately it wasn't raining today, otherwise I would have been concerned about the contents given the much inferior water repellent properties of the sandy yellow bags.
Not only that, but I nearly had palpitations as I initially overlooked the package amongst the usual post and thought that they had not delivered it to me a day early like they usually do. All this distress could have been avoided by simply sticking to their normal packaging!
I have phoned play many times with refernce to the packaging used, but find that I am not taken seriously. This does not stop me but I feel that I am not getting anywhere. Try phoning customer services to stop the rot at gameplay. My worst thoughts have been confirmed with the spread of yet more yellow jiffy bags. Trust me, its just the start of the end.
What was wrong with the silver ones? Did they not perform their task previously? And there is also the water issue which you bring up.
