I'm emigrating to New Zealand and wonder if anyone knows the state of plasma TV supply down there. I'm looking at the Poineer 433HDE £4300 or Panny 5 £3700 (I think). Want to know if it's worth just getting it here and put it in the container to ship with all the other toys. Question
A - Are these models even available in NZ or Aus?
B - What price are they going for?
Also are your TV broadcst in digital / widescreen yet
    Cheers

    Hi,
I can't speak for NZ but as for OZ the models are broadly the same but prices over there tends to be around double what it is here. If you are going to ship I would suggest that you do the following
    1) Find out what import duty it will attract
    2) Find out the shipping cost
    3) Get some insurance and cost it
    4) Get a shipping case for a plasma
    5) Check the warranty situation.

    Hope this helps

    Regards
    John

There is a New Zealand manufacturer called Black Diamond who make Plasma Screens, a 42inch model they make will cost about £4,333. They are at www.bdt.co.nz.
