According to the fellas on the Plasma forum this show is undertaking a comparision between LCD and Plasma.

Knowing the gadget show it probably will not be much good, but you never know! It might help the undecided

Just checked out the TV guide and the quote for this programme is:

"The cult show for gadget lovers, presented by Suzi Perry, Jason Bradbury and Jon Bentley. Jason puts flat screen televisions to the test in a head-to-head grand challenge to find the one with the best picture quality. Plus the chance to win the best television of the lot in this week's competition"

Is Jason the bald headed one??

    Winner................Sharp 45" LCD!!
Opinion was that it was without doubt the best against £3k Pioneer & £1k Goodmans plasmas.

It was £3k Fujistsu if I recall correctly. Also no info on whether or how the screen was calibrated. When they panned back it was clear that saturation varied between the units which should have been easily correctable to give a lvel playing field. Overall a typical TV electronics journalist review.

Having said that from close ups shown the Sharp did indeed look better.

Not exactly a definitive review ... spread out through the show to keep you watching the whole thing, which annoys me :thumbsdow

In my opinion a better review would be to look at 32" LCD TV's and 37" plasma's. The reviewer started by referencing CRT TV's and these would be the nearest, direct replacement with reasonable prices!

And the footage was rubbish to test with - surely a proper dvd movie would have shown each unit at its best?
