This seems strange to me, my husband's friend told him if he bought a plasma tv, it contains a cylinder with gas and this needs to be replaced later on. Is this correct? Never heard this mention before. Thanks

Of course it's true - his mate told him so!
And how else do you explain Sodastream's leap in profits in the past 10 years - they're not selling more fizzy drinks makers or flavourings.

Of course, if you believe that, you'll believe anything - which'll make you as gullible as he is. You don't want to be like that, sure you don't?
    :D

Hi MaryLee & welcome to the forum. There is gas in a plasma TV but it's encased in tiny little sealed cells throughout the screen. It doesn't need replacing. There's an old rumour about them needing "regassing" after a while but it's nonsense :)
