My mate has a plasma TV. He switched it on earlier & only half the picture shows up. The other half of the picture is just blank.

He opened it up and there seems to be the main power board, then 2 other circuit boards which both seem to supply one half of the total picture.

I thought that the power supply to one of the boards had gone, but tested both of them, and they seem to be fine.

Could anybody supply me with some information if possible about any other possibilties it could be please?

Or even the principle operation of a plasma TV?

    Thanks in adavance

This is just a wild (and probably stupid) guess. Could it be that PIP (pictur in picture is selected in split screen mode and that there is no input for the second half of the screen?

Servicing a Plasma is not something that's much been discussed so far on the AV Forums - probably as most folk are not best qualified to start poking about inside these units.

It sounds like a dead driver circuit causing your problem.

First off you should try to purchase a service manual for the display you have and then take it from there - not all the manufacturers will supply these manuals to non approved engineers mind!

    Best regards

    Joe
