    Hi

The ideal place for the plasma I want is in the middle of a doorway and I need some way of having the plasam swing into place.

The idea is that most of the time the screen sits across the corner of the room and when running movies, I can swing it out and across to sit between the main speakers that are either side of a 7ft wide doorway from the dining room to the lounge. I would prefer to do this with a bracket that swings it round, rather than a stand on wheels........

Anyone seen anything / had anything like this made? I know that there will be a lot of leverage from the weight of the plasma (42" about 30kg, but not decided on make yet).

I have looked at the unicol site but no luck.

    Any ideas?

Unicol use a wall mount in combination with a swing arm to achieve the desired effect. The only problem is the industrial look of the thing and you are limited on positioning as the arm has no "elbows" if you get what I mean.

SMS brackets are much nicer looking and achieve the same result. Theres a few to choose from but it's the plasma 3Dimension you should look for (pic attached). I'm not sure how much it is because it wasn't released last time I looked but i'll look into it and see if I can get an RRP.

There are quite a few articulated arm options out there - though dont expect to pay much less than about £400+ for one.

Have a look at the following:

    http://www.chiefmfg.com/

    http://www.peerlessindustries.com/

http://www.futureautomation.co.uk/ (a bit of a quirky unit but worth a look)

http://www.sms.safebrackets.se (I think this is the same link Liam gave you).

The new SMS 3D bracket has an SRP of £495 ex shipping!

We have used all of these manufacturers (plus of course Unicol) as and when installations required something 'out of the ordinary' and when nothing is available 'off the shelf' we also design and manufacturer custom solutions.

Happy hunting - and please get an engineer to 'prove' your install before you hang your display on an articulated arm.

    Best regards

    Joe
