    Hey all,

I've on order a Panasonic TH42PW7 with scart & pedestal for my elderly bedridden father.
Size & image quality are the priority but what are my options regarding speakers. Having spent the money on the panel, sound quality is not so important for him its more a case of volume. I don't want to buy a full audio setup or the flash matching panasonic speakers because they wont be used.
    What are my (cheap)alternatives?

    Many thanks

    :)

for what you need a cheap stereo amp and speakers will do fine. Richer Sounds will probably be a good source - for speakers something like the Mission M71i are great speakers and at only £60 are a steal. An amp from them would be in the region of £100-£150 depending on what you go for

The panel speakers would be probably the best as far as ease of use.
If you want to go down the road of seprate amp and apeakers it depends what features you want.

But if sound quality is not that importnat then a cheap home cinema in a box or even a mini/midi system would do. Aslong as it has an audio input and your source/plasma has an audio output (usualy stero pair, i.e. red and white leads).
