I am considering upgrading my present set up the sole reason of increasing screen size.
    I currently have a 36" Toshiba CRT.
Should I go for a 42" Plasma or a low budget projector ?
Obviously price will play a part. Is the opinion that plasma prices will significantly decrease within the next six months to a year ?
I am a newbie and I am torn between a video projector or a plasma, I know that some 'reasonable' projectors can be had for around the £1,200 mark that will give me a significant increase in picture size or would it be worth upgrading to a 42" plasma, that would only increase the screen size from the 36" that I have now to 42 " ?

    Regards......Ted

dedicated room PJ, living room p-lasma esp if you have kids.
Z2 £1500 +£600 for screen or £3000 for PW6 is one way to look at it!

yep.. the way i see it, the plasma replaces a tv, and the projector is in addition to a tv (assuming you watch things other than movies of course).. Having said that, if i had the room i would have kept my 32" Toshiba CRT, and gotten a decent projector.. but i would have needed a *lot* more room!

Plasma for everyday viewing and watching TV

CRT Projector for the DVD's and the HiDef

    TFT for the Kitchen

CRT for the bedroom (doesn't draw the eyes as much)

Portable TFT for toilet, garage, garden and work

laptop for holidays and business trips

long stay in clinic for my addiction:rolleyes:

In truth a projector is not practical for watching tv or for daytime viewing

    Unfortunatly everything is a compromise
