    hi Guys,

Will be buying the Hitachi 500E,

Would it be ok for me to install this near the radiator. The wall doesn't appear to getting all that hot.....

The plasma would be overlapping above the radiator by 10-15cm and about 15cm above the radiator.

Could also install a shelf above the radiator if required.

Hmmm...15 cm above seems pretty close to me even considering the 10-15cm overlap.

This is difficult to say - if you make the plasma hotter it will work harder and hence not last as long.

A shelf would be a good idea to help defect the heat.

Check out the enitre "get you plasma's out for the lads" thread and look to see if anyone else has one above a radiator and then drop them a PM for their thoughts...

    Good luck!!

Mrs Brethy here, ours is on the wall above a radiator but we have it turned off. I'm, not sure sure if the heat would affect it but I've noticed a few people have theirs on the fireplace?.

    Hi,
just bought the same plasma and waiting fot it to be delivered Monday:rotfl:

I was worried about the heat causing damage to the plasma and my centre speaker. So I bought a radiator cover.
I would put at least a shelf above your radiator, just in case.

Have you managed to tweak the settings for best picture yet ?
    Any gotcha's ?
    Regards
