Plasma Lip Synch

    I HAVE A PLASMA BUT WHEN I TRY TO WATCH A DVD ON IT THE LIP SYNCH IS TERRIBLE WHAT AM I DOING WRONG AS THE DVDS WORK OK ON OUR OTHER TVS :lease:

    You're not doing anything wrong mate...it's a feature of most plasma/LCD displays due to the extra processing required in order to display an image :mad:

    Some are more prone to this than others and some people spot it more than others.

    The only way to sort it out is via either a amplifier which has a built-in audio delay feature or via a dedicated audio delay unit.

    It's also sometimes a function of what input is being used ... component (and progressive if possible) should in theory exhibit the least sync prob since the screen will just be scaling and not processing at all

    Seems strange to me that you see sync errors with DVD input, what is the connection you are using and what Plasma?
    I have only ever had sync errors occasionally on less than "Premium" Sky channels, never on DVD (component) or DVI inputs.

    i've only ever noticed this on certain programmes on Sky (well really on Holyoakes) my DVD seems fine.

    Rob, well played on admiting to watching HollyOakes ;-)

    I've seen this on ITV sometimes but very rarely. Never on a DVD.

    Lol! Well, to be honest it's the other half who watches i just happen to be in the same room at the same time.... honest!!

    yeah, i seem to be noticing less and less now, maybe i'm just getting used to it though!
