plasma life counter

    hi i have a philips 42pf9952 plasma does anyone know if there is a life counter on there so i know how long ive had it running?
    thank you?
    or any other info on this tv

    Never heard of it on any plasma to be honest. I have a Fujitsu and it doesn't have any such feature.

    It would probably be of little use because the biggest issue in plasma life span apart from the physical hours you clock up are the user settings on contrast and brightness etc and the type of media you are using, i.e lots of static images, or video. Burn in will obviously occur much quicker with the former. High contrast and brightness will shorten the panel life by making those phosphors work much harder so a counter on its own would be pretty inaccurate I think.

    Several brands - if not all - do have a counter on them concealed in the service menu.
