Dear friends, thanks for the information that you give,i need an advice for a tv set
    my needs is
a tv set for viewing tv and dvd in 3 metres from the couch
but also must be connected with pc
    with HDMI support
    the bunget is 2000 euro
I like plasma 42'' lg 42PX3RV (or 42PX4RV) with very good contast and brigtness, but poor resolution 852x480 (must be bad for pc connection i think...?)
I like also LCD Philips 37'' 37PF5320,with good resolution 1366x768p, fast responce time 8 ms, but is 5'' smaller from LG and not good brigthness (500 cd/m2) and contrast (600;1)

i must say that i am in confusion about the HD support for the two sets,do they support or they don't?

    THANKS,
    Greetings from athens

The Philips should be ok for HD.
The lg, not really, although you will get a picture.

Either way, don't read too much into the figures.
Go and look for yourself :smashin:

I watch my LG 42PX3rv from 3 meters also and PQ is superb.
The LG is HD compatable, but if you are in plan to use mainly PC, LCD may be a better choice-However the LG will display up to 1280x1024 60HZ in PC mode (this is recommended resolution).
The Philips has les inputs-2 scarts (only one RGB) and DVI, and no component-which make it difficult to connect digital TV box and DVD unless you have DVD with HDMI out (but then you can't connect your PC).

So go to the shop and try to decide for yourself, good luck
