plasma led or lcd please help

Basically got 400-500 pound to spend...dunno whether to get plssma led or lcd obviously preference is an issue but for picture just want help. Play xbox now n then, watch films and tele!probably want between 37-42 inch if possible!!gotta decide which way to go, currys said led but apparently they adjust the settings to make them look good!!!any help would be appreciated...cheers
