I've just bought a Philips 37PF9946 and whilst I'm quite impressed with the results certain images are better than others.

Poorer quality images, such numeous washed out scenes from "Quantum Leap" on DVD can be quite appalling (and making me wonder whether it was a good idea to abandon CRT) whilst other images from DVDs such as "Hellboy" and (especially) "The Simpsons" can be quite exceptional.

Naturally, if you pay much higher prices then I'd expect much better results, but I'm just wondering whether these image issues are simply down to the Philips or something that troubles other plasma units at the lower end of the market (especially since all the plasmas on demo in the likes of Comet/Currys all seemed to produce similar results from their mass distributed images)?
