Rather odd question: I am about to purchase plasma with sep. Media box + 10 extension cable. Issue here is that I need to run the a 10m cable from media box to Plasma connection cable under the flooring. What I am struggling to solve is how I can neatly route this rather hefty cable via sockets. Because this is unbroken I was hoping I could find (without success) some stainless steel sockets - with a black 'letterbox brushes" centre which to route the cable through. Not sure if that is very clear! Help appreciated! Does anyone make these?

Graphic design is not my forte!

Yes like a letter box! And don't suggest I use one! Perhaps rubber might do also. QED only seem to do satin face plates with a big hole. Seems like there is a gap in the market for continues cable face plates!

    Hello Tantalus,

If the QED Satin faceplate has a big enough hole to fit the connectors through, then how about buying a cheap plastic letter box flap with brushes, removing the brush strips from the letterbox, cutting them down to size and glueing the bits of brush strip with hot melt glue gun or araldite etc to the back of the faceplate ?

Also if the faceplate will be hidden behind the plamsa does it need to be a satin metal one, doubt it will be seen.

    Good luck !

    Mark.

rs components do a 30cm plate / brush strip. It has 2 x screw holes so you can drill a biggish hole pop your cable through and then screw the plate on, giving it a nice finnish. The plates come in white and brown and cost about a fiver.

    thinking outside the box today

was in local diy shop today and seen a wall plate fixing for connecting to flatventilation system which looked like what you need minus the rubber seal/flap. cost 1.63 euros

might be worth checking out in bq next time your there
