I am not positive that I am with you there?!?

The plasma screen is just a display. If you are using a mouse or pointer, then it's the PC or whatever that needs the IR device attached to it.

Most Company Boardrooms will have a PC hidden away with an IR receiver attached, the peeps who are doing presentations etc will just point their wireless device in the general direction of the IR receiver, whic typically is just visable somewhere and Roberts your fathers brother!

The plasma screen just connects to the VGA signal of the PC like any normal monitor or projector.

I think that is the kind of situation you are asking about?
