I have looking to connect a Pioneer 433MXE that has 5 BNC (R, G, B, SYNC/HD, VD) input connectors and a DVD player that has both scart and component out with green(Y), red(Pr), blue(Pb) (RCA connectors).

Would a component lead with 3 rca's on each end work ?
(if so at the plasma end do the R G B rca's connect to the R, G, B BNC and the H, V connectors are left alone)

    1. Is it better to use all 5 BNC connections, so is it possible to get a cable with 3 RCA to 5 BNC without converter? Where can I get this?

    2. If using a set of RCA-BNC adapters, would it affect PQ ?

    4. Is scart RGB better to component on the DVD if I switch between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios ?

Thank you very much for your help.

    jedimaster,
I have now bought some adapters that simply plug onto the end of an RCA componet lead and turn it into a bnc plug and they work fine without the HD/VD plugs being used as well. From what I can tell there is no loss in picture quality. The adapters are gold plated and cost very little, £4 each. Hope this helps.

getting Mark Grant to make up a cable with RCA on one end and BNC on the other is the best idea
