    Does anyone have this... If so what is the transfer like... and how about the audio... Classic film but is it worth buying on dvd?

    Try region 4 it is anamorphic,plus pal. :p

    But the R4 is from an inferior print.


    R1 is from more or less totally clean print (restored)

    I've compared the R1 and R4 versions, and would definitely go for the R4.

    Both are sourced from very clean prints, although fine grain and minor artefacts are more visible on the R4 thanks to the higher resolution of PAL and anamorphic enhancement.

    thanks folks... I'll probably go for the region one since it's compatible with all my dvd players.
