    :lease:
JL has just delivered my Panasonic 42PV500, but they had sent me the wrong pedestal stand. So, delivery guys, who were supposed to install the system, left the TV leaning against the couch and left. JL won't be able to send the correct pedestal stand until mid next week.

Do I need to keep the plasma upright or keeping it tipped around 45 degrees OK?

    thanks

    thank you...
they took it out of box, left it like that. i didn't think of it. I thought that they would just get back with a new stand within a few hours. but, i was obviously wrong. i can't lift it on my own.

It looks like JL uses a third party delivery company in London...

box is so big, it looks almost impossible to put it back in there, but i guess I should move it a safer position. thanks again.

normally the boxes have a removable bottom tray you can just lift into that bit and slip the bigger box part over it

Panasonic do use that box system. If they have lifted it out of the top of the box, then they are muppets. Some plastic clips on the sides, near the bottom, will not tax your intelligence too long.

they took the top bit of the box out, left it outside of the house in the rain and brought the screen in... they were supposed to be experienced people to install the system. i assumed that they knew what they were doing.

I have been on the phone with JL, complaining about the whole thing. They have agreed to reimburse the installation fee (£35), which is really insignificant considering that i know have to wait for almost another week and take another half day off the work to get the stand.

I actually paid a fair bit more (nearly £2700 for the tv, stand, and free dvd recorder) because I thought that JL would provide a good service. But, outsourcing is the name of the game.

I would tell them to come and pick it up and refund you, they have not delivered it when they said they would and they have left it where it could be damaged.
I can tell you now if you want to sell it not many people will buy it wothout the box.

thanks. in fact there scratches on one corner. don't really know what to do. the problem is that if I return it, then I have to go through the same hassle of ordering one and waiting for the delivery for weeks etc... I had ordered this one on June 13.

That wan't a Friday was it?

Leaning a plasma over is not problem; just as long as it won't fall over.

Transporting them upright is essential so the heavy fragile screen doesn't crack over big bumps. It happens a lot.
