Q: Is it important that a pj lens is no higher than the top of the screen image?

I'm asking as I'm unsure whether to go for a 16:9 with top masking to create 2.35:1 images (which would lower the projected image height), or a 2.35:1 screen with side masking for 16:9 images (which would give a constant height but a smaller 16:9 image)??

I think a 16:9 screen would give me the biggest image sizes for both ratios. If my initial question is true, a variable height ceiling mount would help, but have yet to find one (incl Unicol) that is easily adjustable (without tools).

What do other people do, use a constant height, variable width screen setup instead?

    n.
