Ok i got a Hyundai 4240 before xmas, and sometimes i notice what i would call pixelization..?
It's like on fast moving images some parts of the picture look computerized..... or blended anyone know if this is a common thing on plasmas or just something on certain plasmas...?

BTW i only just found this great place :)

not sure if price is a strict guide...

from what ive seen, one of the cheapest available plasma TVs, the Techwood, has virtually no motion pixellation, whereas one of the most expensive, the Pioneer, has it in spades..

panasonic panels excel in this department - the high-definition panels are superb for sport etc

can't changing processing setup or using external devices help? maybe try changing and/or switching off some picture enhancement features..

The noise reduction stuff in Pioneers will add this motion distortion. If it's large banding you see that's only visible during pans and is seen in large blocks of the same colour then that's inherent in all plasma technology and there are very few things you can do to solve it. Frame rate conversion helps on some panels and some folk see it less than others as well I think.

don't be fooled by any demo you see of the techwood. I've had two,

pixelation, motion blurring, any movement at all really results in colours running for a painting by numbers type effect.

got a panasonic 42pwd7 on friday and although you get the pixelation effect occasionally on skysports, generally you do not see it at all. for only 300 quid more than the techwood, it is leaps and bounds ahead in quality!
in fact, it's closer to a crt type image than i ever imagined possible in a set at this price.

I think what you're referring to here is actually caused by the Sky feed rather than the display device. I get similar artefacts on my pwd6/Telewest (mostly on Sky One), it's a combination of the signal being compressed too much for large displays and Sky/Telewest being too tight to do anything about it.

please trust me on this, do not buy a techwood.

av sales have a deal running for a panasonic pw7 with tuner box at under 1400, although the tuner box is not as good as using seperate terminal boards it will knock the spots off the techwood. and Tiny are not a good company to do business with.
I had 2 techwoods!! i now have a panny pw7 and it is honestly the best option. please hear me!! do not waste your money on techwood. find the tiny threads on these forums and see if you still want a tiny!!
I am not an AVsales staff member or anything so trust me when i say, they are a great company to do business with.

I ordered my plasma on a wednesday evening, it arrived before lunchtime on the friday, I was watching it before the missus got back from work!!!

Pixellation, artefacts, etc?? What do they look like?

I have a PWD7 and have noticed some strange freezing and breaking up of parts of images recently on some channels (UK Gold last night). I don't want to panic (panel is a year old) but how do I know its the source rather than the screen?

    Thanks.

Not that I have noticed. But it only seems to have started recently. I didn't notice at all last night until I watched a bit of Fools and Horses on Uk Gold and then switched to the end of the Manu game on Sky sports and that was ok. I have never noticed it watching sports.

I guess I need a pic of it but that may prove difficult!

If it's not all channels, and not DVD, rest easy about your screen.
