The only version of Pitch Black I have seen is the unrated Directors Cut R1 DVD of the film. I have looked on DVD Compare but it doesn't state the differences between normal cut and directors cut. Looking at run times, its about 4 minutes difference.

There was a bit in the film where a girl crawls into a cave and see the alien for the first time. There is a scene in there which looks likes its the wrong aspect ratio, as its all stretched out. This is only seconds though. Is this part of the directors cut?

Just wondering if anyone knows the differences.

    Thanks

If you listen to the David Twohy commentary, he points out the additional footage (like the new opening shot and the scene where one of the characters (I forget which one) tries to be friendly to Riddick).
