What are the speakers like and could they be used as a centre speraker for a 5.1 dd setup?

very good speakers on the 434.
we were very surprised when first listening to sky movies through the plasma speakers only.
I suppose you could use one as a centre speaker if you wanted to.

That might depend on what you are used to. Personally I find them fairly crap, about the same as any reasonable quality TV speakers. Absolutely nowhere near the quality of decent budget cinema speakers.

I would say that they are a significant improvement on normal TV speakers. I was surprised how decent they were - they make normal TV viewing a reasonable experience.

However if you going for a dedicated HC then obviously there are a lot better speakers out there + you really should be looking to tonally match your front three speakers to create a seamless soundstage.
