I assume you ask because you have seen it advertised at very low prices (Richersounds for £149 if you use the voucher from What HiFi). Well I bought one about 6 months ago after I got hold of my Tosh 2109 player, and I have been very pleased with it. I upgraded from the award winning Harmon Kardon AVI-100 DPL amp, and I found the difference HUGE. It is used in a room that is approximately 16ft x 10ft and is powerful enough for this. I realise that it will not be in the same league as your Sony's and Yamaha's, but it is a great entry into DD and I bought it for £199 from Dublin. I guessed that at that price it was not too much of a risk. I say go for it !!
