WHat are the main differences between these 2 AV receivers and what is "midnight listening"? Does anyone knows a shop that has any of them in stock?

811 has processing for EX and ES as I remember. It also includes the additional amplification. The 711 lacks these features IIRC. Can't help with a shop that has stock.
Midnight listening is a proprietary version of DD's dynamic range compression that works with all sources including DTS - it allows you to use a lower volume level to hear dialogue and won't go stupidly loud when explosions and the like are present.
