just starting out on the home cinema diy path, and the vsx-c502 seems very user friendly (scart connections etc), anyone own one, or know of it before I buy ?

I don't know much about the new C502, but I know there are quite a few owners of the C301 and based on that, they are very pleased with its abilities and quality, and I would think that C502 would be a really good buy if you need the scart functions.

And by me adding a comment I'm pushing the thread to the front and perhaps others will start chipping in ;D

The stereo connections for 6 channel inout are via the scart input, so say you wanted to connect the 575 for DVD-A/SCAD the hi-res stereo audio would go through the scart and the rear surrounds, centre and sub would go via 4 RCA interconnects. Never seen it done like that before.
