My Pioneer VSX-5i is connected to my DV868 via i-link but up inserting a free DVD from a magazine it would not play any sound.
The audio track on the disc is MPEG.

I tried connecting up my old digi coax to see if that would pick it up but no joy there either. I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

    Anyone else experianced this?

    Thanx.

The problem probably lies with the player rather than the amp...I'm not familiar with the 868 menu but there is probably a page devoted to sound formats. You'll probably be able to turn MPEG on and off there...there should be a Dolby Digital track on the disc as well, otherwise the makers are not conforming to the DVD software forum, that states that all discs must come with a Dolby Digital soundtrack...be it 1.0 (mono) 2.0 (stereo) 3.0 (Dolby Surround or good ol' 5.1...
