Interesting. That I did not know.
So in my case, if I have understood you correctly:
I am running 2 x 1080p TVs, so I should be fine with video.
If I am ok to plug in the 2nd AV amp, then as that can accept DTS-HD MA etc I should also be fine with audio formats.
Also I assume that if the LX85 is outputting audio and video to both HDMI outputs, it'll still be able to run the speakers?
So I guess the only question is am I ok to plug the HDMI output from the LX85 to an HDMI input on a Harmon Kardon AVR255, and if I do so will I get DTS-HD MA etc through the Harmon Kardon?
Yep, the video will be okay if both TVs are 1080p and the audio should be fine if using an AV amp in the second location rather than passing through the audio to the TV.
You'd only need to passthrough audio to your second location. Some amps hav the option to supply Audio to both Amp and TV while others only give the option of one or the other. I'm not sure what the case is with Pioneer amps?
Another thing, I'm not sure if Pioneer amps with dual HDMI output allow simultaneous output via both HDMI outputs? Yamaha are the only manufacturer that I'm aware of that facilitate this.
