image.jpg image.jpg For sale, absolutely immaculate Pioneer LX85 A/V Receiver.
Purchased from the Bristol Show in Feb 2012 (via AudioT). That original receiver broke down and was replaced with a brand new one from Pioneer UK in May 2012 - so there's a few month warranty left. This receiver has worked flawlessly and has only had occasional use (used in a bedroom) and has never been connected to a subwoofer, so it's not been driven hard really, ever.
As above, receiver is like new, zero marks, dings, scratches, it comes wrapped in original box and packaging and includes all power leads, wireless adapter, RF remote, MCAAC room correction mic and quick start guide).
5 star award winning receiver, 9.2 channels of class D amplification, THX Ultra2 certified, uPnP (will play files off NAS drives), 192khz 24bit hi res playback of FLAC or WAV.
Priced for a quick sale and includes delivery.
Buy with confidence, I've been a member on here since 2003, and everything I sell is exactly as described.
    Many Thanks

    Price and currency: £850
    Delivery: Delivery cost is Included
    Payment method: Bank Transfer
    Location: Maidenhead

    Hi, yes, RF remote included.
Noticed an 83 in your signature, that's what I had before moving to the 85. I'm sure you've done your research anyhow but 85 is a substantial jump sonically in terms of power, control and soundstage. 85 was the first to to switch from ICE to Class D amplification and it's a noticeable improvement.

What was the fault on the original unit? Has the replacement unit ever experienced any faults that have needed to be repaired?

I understand there is a common issue with these receivers that require some internal parts to be upgraded to solve, hence the questions.

    Thanks

Original unit couldn't hold a network connection (either wired or wi-fi) for more than 2 seconds. It was replaced with a brand new unit direct from Pioneer UK. This one was manufactured in Feb 2012, I believe the common faults (switching off/shutting down) occurred with the first release, Oct 2011 manufactured models.
As it says in the thread, this unit has performed flawlessly.
I'm selling it only because I have purchased a complete set of new MK speakers which are 4ohm. 4 ohm compatibility was introduced on the 86 model and current 87 (which I have just bought).

Thanks for clarifying. I take it the 85 will support 6 ohm speakers ok? Also, how does the 85 compare with the 87 sonically speaking?

GTA - Yep, 6ohm support is where it begins on the LX85. Their true impedance at output level is rated at 6ohms. Sonically speaking its very close, I'd like to think the 87 has the edge, but I have always been more than impressed with the 85 and it was not an upgrade based on sonics. It was more the fact that having splashed out £5K on new MK speakers, I was keen for them to be driven by an amp that can fuel them with native 4ohm power - plus I had an itchy credit card at the Bristol show last weekend. One downside of the 87 is that it no longer comes with the RF remote that shipped with the 85.

Thanks for your quick response. I am interested but at present my budget of £600 (collected) won't stretch to your asking, so I'll keep an eye on the thread and let you know if my position changes

Think this deserves a bump after a whole week with zero activity on the thread. I'm reducing the price to £750 if anyone wishes to collect? absolutely no lower, and no offers, asking price only else I'm keeping it for a rainy day.
