    Hi,
I have for sale my Pioneer SC LX83 receiver due to an upgrade. It's in reasonable condition and has been kept in a rack for the last three years. I have not had any problems with the receiver although I have only used it in a basic 5.1 configuration.
There are some scratches on the top rear of the receiver (photos attached). There are no marks on the front of the receiver.
Due to the size of the receiver it would have to be collection only, although I could deliver in the London area.
The receiver comes with a BT100 bluetooth connector (which I have never used) and all the manuals. I printed them off from the CD. There are also various cables (see photo).
I would like to get £400 for the receiver. Demo's are welcome.
The last Pioneer SC LX83 sold a couple of days ago on these forums for £425, therefore I think £400 is a fair price.
    Greg
p.s. I have stated that the receiver is in 'reasonable' condition. I think that the receiver is in very good condition apart from the marks to the top rear of the receiver (which could not be seen if kept in a rack).

    Hi Dr Pepper,

I need to get very close to asking price. Another one sold recently for £425 (albeit no scratches).
No major hurry to sell as it's Christmas and people are busy doing Christmassy things !!!

Hi how long have you had this, have you owned it from new? Has it ever been repaired?

Off to measure my AV unit would be an awesome upgrade but got a feeling it's going to be too big. Have a bump from me anyway, if it will fit I may be back :)

    Hi,
I purchased this Receiver in January 2013 (just under three years ago) second hand from a guy in Stanwell, near Heathrow airport. It was placed in my rack and never moved (till now). I have never had it repaired and as far as I know the guy before me has not either.
I had it wired into my AV system (not wi-fi), which is only 5.1. My requirements of an AV receiver are fairly basic compared to some people, but it's never let me down and gives a great sound. One minor downside to Pioneer receivers in general is that setting them up could be easier, but it's really worth the effort.
Over the last three years I have posted on forums asking if the newer AV receivers (SC-LX 86,87 and 88) would sound better than the SC-LX83. the general consensus was that you would gain additional features, but overall there would not be a major improvement in sound quality.

    Hi,
I have changed over to a Yamaha RX-A3040. not sure if it will fill the boots of the Pioneer as it's a totally different sound (a bit more laid back). It definitely does not have the power of the LX83.
