I've had a Pioneer S-DV88SW CD/DVD 5.1 system since new and it suits our needs and our room perfectly.

Pity is, it's just started to cut out by randomly powering down completely and going into standby mode. Sometimes I can power it up again but occasionally I have to disconnect the mains and give it a cold start.

I can hear a click (relay??) when it cuts out. It does this when playing a CD or DVD but not when using an aux input with an iPad.

I wondered if it is thermal cutout doing this, however the fan is working. Maybe the thermal cutout is malfunctioning but don't understand why it doesn't happen with non DVD/CD . Has anyone an idea of what could be happening?
    Cheers
    Rob
