Just got my 435XDE mounted and working - very impressed with it :D (£2700 including wall bracket :) )

Small snag: the 3m box to panel cable is about 20cm shorter than I could do with :(

Been offered the 10m Pioneer cable for £190, but that seems a little ott considering I only need 3.2...

Any help in locating a suitable cable would be much appreciated

I asked the same question, before I went off the idea of buying an XDE for the moment. The current Sharp system cable is the old Pioneer one. At 7m long for about £95 (I think) it's a little more realistic.

    Hi Renton

Give Joe Fernand (you can find him on this forum) a shout.

I recently replaced the DVI cable on my xde with a Better Cables DVI supplied by Joe. I was not replacing it due to length but to see if it offered better PQ. IMOH the difference was immediate. The colours seemed more rich and vibrant and the clarity of the picture was fantastic.

    A worthy upgrade.

    cheers

    Steve

Did it come with a matching system cable?

    Hi Robbie

It was just a DVI on its own, there was no need to replace the MDR as I was not increasing the length required. As you know the MDR has no bearing on PQ.

The way you word that makes it sound inferior, or are you just referring to the length being old rather than the tech/quality?

Many thanks for the help so far, I've dropped Joe a PM

Many thanks to Joe for getting back to me

In case anyone else finds themselves in a similar position, Wireworld do a 5m MDR cable and lots of firms sell separate DVI cables. Think I'll be going for a 4m Supra one.
This combo will give me the extra cable length I need and the cost is a little over half of the original 10m Pioneer option.

Looks like onebetterbuy are good at selling discount TVs, but not very knowledgable about the cable side of things as they said the only option was a 10m Pioneer.

Same quality as the 'new' cable, just a different length.

Didn't know about the Wireworld combo, may go that way too.

Update for anyone needing a longer media box to plasma cable.
Wireworld wont sell the MDR cable on its own, you MUST buy a DVI cable with it
That takes the price for a 5m cable up to at least £155

Sharp cables still £95 I believe, and it's the cable that came with the 433HDE, sharp used to make Pioneers media boxes.
