Question on a ye-olde Pioneer PDP-506 plasma I have

I don't have the 'official' Pioneer side speakers and want to listen to the TV without switching on about 10 devices and get 7.1 !!

I do have some speakers and one centre (8 Ohm impedence) I could connect but question is can I connect directly to the speaker terminals in the back of the panel ?

thanks !

I use a pair of speakers that I built into a stand. They are 8 ohms and are an 8" plus a tweeter. Work well as the built in amp is good quality and about 15 watts a chan.

A left and right speaker can be connected and there is a socket for a powered sub.

Not 7.1, you need a AV amp and all it connections to benefit that.

No connections for a center exist on the set.

The manual Pioneer user manual

Thanks Andy98765 + vidjo

That's the answer I was after - a healthy 15W should be good enough just for really basic TV low level listening.

Should be able to connect my spare centre to one channel and change to mono.

I do have the full bhoona 7.1 but I was looking for a way I could avoid powering up 3 amps and a Processor just to watch the news !

cheers :smashin:
