    Hi,
I am just before decision about my new TV. Finally I am thinking about one of these two TV sets. What are your opinions?
I live in Poland, where unfortunately the prices are still higher then in Western Europe, so I intend to buy TV through German internet shop. The best offers (without delivery) are about 3160 euro for Philips and 3950 for Pioneer.
    Thanks for any comments

Those are both excellent screens. I had the same 'problem'.
Went for the Pioneer. Not regrets at all.
It is still a big difference 37 or 43 inch remember that.

I would say Pioneer. Well worth the extra.

I recently purchased the 37PF9986 and kept it for a week. Returned it and got a PDP-435XDE plasma instead.
To me the two don't even come close - the Pio easily surpasses the Philips in terms of PQ from a Freeview signal. It's excellent.
DVD is much closer, but IMO any LCD>32" is a great risk for day to day viewing - the higher resolution sounds great, but all it does is exaggerate the poor quality of the source feeds we currently have for terrestrial tv.
You'll need to guard against screen burn with the Pio (although LCDs can suffer from dead pixels). The Ambilight on the Philips is good, and I think the screen is a looker, but the Pio also looks fantastic on the wall.
IMO the Pio (XDE) is an easy winner. I would assume the HDE is just as good.

    Thanks for your opinions.
I've found today an atractive offer for Pioneer 434 HDE.
Does it make sense to save ca. 800 euro and buy 434 instead of 435?
