This Pioneer plasma supports 1080p24 through HDMI. The Playstation 3 has a HDMI connection and according to recent news the 1080p24 mode is going to be supported by PS3 in the future. I'm not sure if I've understood 1080p24 correctly, but is this going to be a problem in when using the set for playing games? If you want a game to run smoothly, 24 frames per second is really not enough for fast scenes. Does the 1080p24 limit the frame rate of games to 24 or not? I'm assuming that I will be using the HDMI connection.
Edit: From what I've understood the Pioneer does not support 1080p50 or 1080p60. I'm not 100% sure though.
