Hi,

I have just bought the Pioneer PDP-4270XD 42 inch and wondered if anyone had recommendations for the picture settings that will make my picture perfect.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum as I see this is your first post.

You have bought a decent plasma and should have a good picture.

A search of the forum will get you suggested settings both for run-in and after run-in.

To optimise the picture you need to check out www.imagingscience.com. There are quite a number of us here in the UK doing it!

Claire, here are run-in settings from the U.S. AVS forum. They're for the U.S. model, but should work:

Main Menu
AV Selection: User

Brightness: +1
Color: -6
Tint: 0
Sharpness: -5

Pro Adjust
Pure Cinema: ADV

Color Detail
Color Temp: Low

CTI: Off

NR
DNR: Off
MPEG NR: Off

Power Save Mode: Standard
H/V Position Adjust (HDMI Only): Verical +2

Here's a link to a review of the same set that has general settings:

Give these a try and see what you think, will look very different to the defaults so watch for half an hour or so to get used to. Gives natural skin tones (to my eyes at least).

Sharpness 0

Manual colour temp settings:

B Low 0

Colour space 2

DNR Mid
MPEG NR Off
BNR Off

Gamma 3

I-P Mode 1

Power Save: Save2
