    Good evening to you all,
i have been following the forums for the last month or so and have been putting off buying my next tv until the new panny 500 series arrived.
Spoke to a dealer today and he reckons the new 50" panny will be unchanged apart from a hdmi connection!
The 37&42 are all new but the 50" has always had the resolution available?
Anyway Pioneer 50" seems the way to go if this is true (Horny D) where ru?
Costco have them at 4k with a 3 year gtee, seems good?

Im sure theres a lot more changed than just the connections. As far as I am aware this range uses a completely new panel.

Costco have 505 xde for under 4k to inc ped stand, speakers and 3 yr gtee!
Seemingly the new 500 series Panny hi-def 50" panel is the same as the old viera.
The 37" & 42" have the new 8 series panel but the 50" has always had the capability of hi-def without the connections, these will be added along with cosmetic changes inc mpeg4 recording.....
    So a dealer told me!

Please tell me who the dealer is.....Please I want to go round and beat him with my big stick...........

panasonic have only sold 1366x768 50" screens in the UK for last 4 years IIRC so yes the TH-50PE30 was 1366x768 but that stupid bloody PD series Acuity Chassis meant it was a waste of money (50" plasma TV's are wrong anyway a panel and scaler is far better) and yes apart from the fact it is now G8glass not G6 and it has a new chassis and additional HDMI connector new layout etc etc it is exactly the same as the old one    Bloody monkeys

    Thought it seemed strange,
Panny dont normally do things by halves.
Think they were trying to push the 505!

PS if you are after a 50" go get a demo of the Fujitsu P50XHA40......... add the TH-50PHW7 and scaler to that list too
