Pioneer GuidePlus updating

    I realise that this question is somewhat premature but if the Guide+ EPG is updated via the ITV1 analogue channel (or Eurosport, if you have it) then what happens when the analogue signal is switched off and you don't subscribe to the latter? I suppose by then we will have moved on to some more advanced equipment by then?

    You're talking eight years or so..........(unless you're in some obscure valley in Wales).

    By which time, you will have (or should have?) junked your machine and got the new Pioneer Ultra High Definition Green Ray HyperDigital Klystron drive......... Presumably, by then, the EPG issue will have resolved itself in new hardware.

    In other words, I think we have to see anything technological bought today as disposable over a (say) 5 - 8 year lifespan. Not just because of changing broadcast standards, just generally.

    OK, OK, we are somewhat underdeveloped technically, but our sheep are sure darn attractive.

    You can't have everything y'know. :D

    Quite the opposite. Some obscure valley in Wales has already had its analog TV transmissions turned off, and all the residents given Pace Twin Freeview boxes. Now the "Twin" is a really good way to impress people about Freeview (not).
