Has anyone heard about this model and how would you rate it?? Is it worth buying or is there another DVD HD Recorder better in your opinion??

I need a HD ready DVD recorder, which is why im looking at it!

The DVR930 is an updated version of the DVR920 with an improved MPEG encoder (same as found in the x30 series budget models) and a few minor tweaks. It's due in a few months but, given the spec in comparison with the rumoured ones from Sony and Panasonic, it is fair to say this is not likely to be a market leader - but time will tell.

Until the next generation High Def formats arrive (HD DVD and BluRay) there is no such thing. The Pioneer DVR930 only accepts standard def signals.

well, unless pioneer's website is changed to reflect their claims in Press releases, the 630 is still the better model....

    - and given the lack of features compared to the 630, it wont lead the market, unless you *want* to be limited to DVD-recording size - i.e., good quality is 2Hrs on single layer, 3.5 Hrs on dual layer that you get with the 630..

well 'timmyH' has got a 930!! :) --- still waiting for a reply though.... :boring:
