I have a 420, but if I was choosing now I'd go for the 530.
530 has GuidePlus - it will control a compatible set top box (freeview, satellite, cable) with an Infra-red transmitter. It downloads an EPG from ITV terrestrial with all the settings for the Freeview/satellite/cable channels (acording to setup) so you set its timer as if it had the tuner onboard. Then it controls your STB. Compatible boxes here http://www.europe.guideplus.com/
Also 530 has 160GB HDD, 433 has 80. With 160 I'd do all timeshift TV recording in SP mode instead of LP. With 80GB at present and using LP I've discovered it's pretty easy to get to over 50% disk space usage.
The 433 remote looks simpler than the 530's, but it has a 'Shift' mode for some functions so turns out a bit more complicted to use than the 530..

Can't answer for the 433, but my 530 (only 10 days old) is quiet as one could wish for. Maybe only time will tell.
By the way don't be too put off by what some people say on these forums, including myself, as we all have differing perceptions about equipment and their intrinsic quality and appeal etc.
