Having already suffered the unreliable JVC DRMH30 and the non HDD editing capability of the Sont RDR-GX900 i am now hoping that the DVR 720 will restore my faith in DVD recorders. Anyone care to highlight its bad points please?

Only one of the SCART sockets supports full input / output ie. the second socket is only for signal output. Also does not support component out. Other than that I find the 720 very easy to use with a great menu system!

I have the 520, and it´s too noisy IMO (I think I´ll try to get the fan replaced at some point), but otherwise perfect (for me that is).

However the perception of noise is very individual, and it´s my impression the majority find the 520/720 acceptable.
