Isn't this an older recorder than DVR-7000? In Sweden DVR-7000 is marketed as a "third generation DVD recorder". (DVR-1000 and DVR-3000 should then be first and second generation.)
But who wouldn't like to see a DVD-multi DVD recorder with HD and a price <£700? (DVD-multi: see dvdforum.com) You can't stop me from dreaming...
The first and second generation Pioneer recorders were the 1000 and 2000.
Then came the third generation the 7000. This is an expensive deck, and if you see the construction of it (solid alluminium front panels etc) it is expensive to make also, so can never fall that far in price and still make Pioneer any money.
So the 7000 remains as their flagship recorder with the 3000 being introduced as a cheaper version but just as well specified.
